The CEREC Process
We typically use the CEREC machine for fabricating restorative prosthetic crowns for your smile following a root canal, an implant procedure, or to replace an old damaged crown.
- The process starts by taking a digital impression of your prepared natural tooth.
- This impression is then uploaded into our computer software where the dentist designs the new crown, aided by computer technology.
- Once the design is complete, it is forwarded to the CEREC milling machine where the crown is contoured and carved from a block of tooth-colored deposit.
- We are then able to cement the new crown into position with the entire process complete in just an hour.
